Smallpox

Smallpox (variola) causes diffusely distributed vesiculopustular lesions. Lesions are usually denser on the face and extremities than on the trunk. Unlike chickenpox, smallpox lesions are all at a similar stage of development on a given body part and are deeply embedded.
