Beta-adrenergic: Inotropic effects*

Alpha-adrenergic: Vasoconstriction†

Beta-adrenergic: Inotropic and chronotropic effects and vasodilation†

Nonadrenergic: Renal and splanchnic vasodilation

2–12 mcg/minute OR

0.1 mcg/kg/minute (weight-based dosing)

* Chronotropic, arrhythmogenic, and direct vascular effects are minimal at lower doses.
