    Pseudofolliculitis barbae is a foreign body reaction caused by skin penetration of hairs before they leave the hair follicle or after they leave the follicle and curve back into the skin. It is most noticeable, typically with papules and pustules around the beard and neck, and is primarily a condition of Black men.
